What is Tang Soo Do?

Tang Soo Do is the predecessor martial art to Tae Kwon Do, a Korean self defense fighting art that was the basis for the development of the national Korean supported sport of Tae Kwon Do. Tang Soo Do was founded by Hwang Kee and Tae Kwon Do founded by Choi Hong Hi. Both passed away in the year 2002.

Who is the instructor?

The former instructor in Colorado Springs at Sand Creek Elementary School was Robert Reynolds. Robert has been certified as Master Instructor (Sa bom Nim) and holds black belt ranks in both Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do and most resently has earned his black belt in Kumdo a Korean sword art. Sa bom Nim Reynold's instruction linage is directly in line with the Tang Soo Do founder Grand Master Hwang Kee . Mr. Reynolds was also presented his black belt certification in Tae Kwon Do by founder Grand Master Choi Hong Hi himself.

What are the costs and times of the lessons?

Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the gymnasium. White and yellow belt class is 6:00 to 7:30pm and advanced students plus adults class is 6:30 to 8:00pm. Both children and adults are welcome to join. The basic class cost is $50 a month for the first family member and 50% off each additional family member or $75 maximum for the whole family. You may also pay by the class which would be $5 per person per class. If payment is a problem just contact Sa bom Nim Reynolds and allowances or provisions will be made so that you may continue to attend class. Testing for belt ranks will be about every three months at a cost of $30.
